In glass processing on edging / mitering machines or double edging machines, but nowadays also more and more on cnc processing centers, ceriumoxyde gives your product the "finishing touch". The glass is polished to a high shine and becomes really transparent. Not every machine has however a separate cerium circuit for polishing with felt wheels and liquid cerium slurry. Sometimes this even isn't possible or advisable, e.g. on double edgers.

Therefore nowadays mostly a flexible cerium impregnated cup wheel is used. For years, rubber bond cerium polishing wheels have been the standard in the flat glass industry.

Driven by the need for higher polishing quality and the price roller coaster of cerium oxyd in recent years price, dictated by China, the search for alternatives was intensified.
